Douglas Chrystall, co-founder of Lingo Jingo, is a seasoned technology entrepreneur working in the software industry for over 20 years with experience in large enterprises as well as starting several successful startups. Douglas is the author of several technology patents in use today.
Douglas is a very active member of the local IT community and enjoys assisting other entrepreneurs in becoming successful. Douglas studied entrepreneurship at Haas Business School in Berkeley, CA. Douglas is extremely passionate about how IT can improve educational outcomes and works closely with local schools on the best use of technology.
He is currently living in Boston and married with 3 children.
Christian Hasker is the co-founder of Lingo Jingo, which blends his experience as a linguist, teacher, and software product manager. Christian is responsible for overall product management and development, as well as content delivery for the Lingo Jingo platform.
Christian studied linguistics at the University of Manchester before getting his teaching diploma at the Cambridge ELTA. He started his career as an English and French language teacher, and then went on to be head of languages at Regents International School in Thailand.
After moving to the US, Christian focused on the technology industry where he has held a variety of different roles at startups and large enterprise software companies. He ran sales for Leccotech before moving into product marketing at Quest Software and most recently, DataStax, a fast growing software startup.
Andy Grant is responsible for customer engagement and marketing at Lingo Jingo. Working very closely with educational prospects and customers, Andy ensures the Lingo Jingo platform satisfies the needs of participating teachers and administrators.
World language education is very important to Andy and his family. His two daughters are both enrolled in Spanish programs through their schools. His oldest is a third-grader in a dual language Spanish/English program that runs from pre-kindergarten through high school, and his youngest is in a Spanish immersion preschool program.
Andy's professional experience includes 15 years in technical sales, marketing, and product management roles at technology businesses ranging from startup stage at Leccotech, to an established enterprise software company, Quest Software. Andy is currently a marketing manager at CourseSmart, focusing on digital course material distribution for higher education.
Brett is a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Madison. When not freezing to death in the frigid Wisconsin winters, he likes to play with computers and shiny gadgets. He studied Spanish throughout high school and college and developed a passion for the language and Hispanic culture. Brett enjoys cats and Diet Mountain Dew.
As Director of Curriculum, Jessica Loose collaborates with Andy Grant in the development of materials that both challenge and support English Language Learners. She works to ensure that every lesson combines both language and content objectives, drawing on her fifteen years’ experience teaching English as a Second Language.
The daughter of German political refugees, she grew up hearing and using two languages. She taught herself Spanish while living in Puerto Rico for seven years. She has a Masters in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Shenandoah University and a Masters in School Administration and Curriculum from East Carolina University. She is currently Co-Director of Mano al Hermano, a nonprofit organization in eastern North Carolina which supports an innovative Family Literacy Program in the public schools.
